Assholes all around. The biggest being the asshole who shot someone in the back while the other asshole walked away. It
stops being self defense and becomes attempted murder.

Why did he start recording, if his temperament couldn’t keep his hands off of his gun? Seems counter -productive.

Sounds like he was only intending on recording to report the driver. Then the driver started getting physical with him over it, and he fell to the ground. That was probably the trigger for pulling the gun. I'm guessing h e didn’t mean to when he started.

Yeah, t hat would make more sense. I wonder if the store has any camera footage to give officers more to go on .

Good question. From what they have already, I bet the old guy would make the most use of it trying to prove that he was in physical danger or was provoked somehow. Don’t know how well you can justify shooting someone in the back though.

Indeed. Trying to out asshole each other is a game that no one really “wins.” Setting aside the shooting the guy in the back as he was walking away thing, it wasn’t likely to be a self-defense situation from the get go. Generally, self-defense via deadly force (as a civilian) can’t involve being a willing participant in a confrontation , much less initiating one.
